LAMDA examinations aren't just for children who want to become actors.
They offer young people the opportunity to develop confidence, communication, creativity and performance skills, while working towards recognised qualifications and celebrating their individual progress.
At The Drama Place, we currently specialise in two LAMDA pathways:
LAMDA Acting
LAMDA Speaking in Public
Lessons are delivered one-to-one online, meaning students can learn with us from wherever they are in the world.
LAMDA Speaking in Public
You don't have to want to be an actor to benefit from LAMDA.
Speaking in Public helps young people become confident, articulate communicators, developing skills they can use at school, university and throughout life.
Students learn:
Public Speaking • Speech Writing • Presentation Skills • Voice & Delivery • Body Language • Communication • Impromptu Speaking
Qualifications are available from Entry Level through to Grade 8
LAMDA Acting
Perfect for young people who love acting, storytelling and performance — or who simply want to grow in confidence.
Students develop skills including:
Character & Acting Technique • Voice & Speech • Movement • Script Work • Creativity • Performance Confidence
LAMDA Acting runs from Entry Level through to Grade 8, allowing students to progress at a pace that's right for them.
Recognised Qualifications
At Grades 6–8, LAMDA qualifications can earn UCAS Tariff points, providing an additional benefit for students as they progress towards university.
And because LAMDA offers online assessment for solo Acting and Speaking in Public, students can learn with The Drama Place from around the world.
Which grade should my child take?
Don't worry — that's something we'll work out together.
During your Discovery Session, we'll look at your child's age, experience, confidence and goals and recommend the pathway and starting point that's right for them.
There is no rush to move through grades. Confidence and genuine progress always come first.
